Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle, light-touch, non-invasive therapy that helps restore and maintain health in the body. It has its roots in osteopathy and has evolved to include advances in neuroscience, human development, pre and perinatal psychology, and trauma resolution. Practitioners are trained to facilitate the resolution of conditions resulting from stress, overwhelm, and injury.
During a session, you rest fully clothed on a comfortable massage table. The guiding principle for a session is that your body is always moving toward health. Through a light touch, I will listen for any compensatory patterns that may be present, and assist your body in accessing its own healing capacities.
Craniosacral Therapy with its gentle hands-on approach works by listening deeply to the body’s subtle rhythms and supporting its natural ability to find balance, release tension, and restore health. While sessions often bring structural improvements — like easing pain or headaches — the effects often also extend into emotional wellbeing, mental clarity and overall resilience.
Our bodies are constantly working to stay balanced. This process happens without us needing to think about it — it is built into our physiology. When things are functioning well our systems regulate themselves and quietly get on with the job of keeping us healthy. One of the most vital shifts the body makes is between action and rest. But in the modern world this balance is often disrupted. Constant stimulation, stress and environmental factors can all take a toll on our ability to recover and restore.
Craniosacral therapy supports the body’s natural capacity to regulate and heal. It works with the deep rhythms that underlie all our essential functions. Therapists are trained to detect these very subtle movements within the body — motions even finer than the heartbeat or breath. By gently placing my hands at key areas, I can support the body in letting go of patterns of strain or held stress. This allows for realignment and greater ease throughout the system.
This approach is grounded in anatomical knowledge, quiet presence and careful attention to what the body is expressing in the moment.
People seek Craniosacral Therapy for a variety of reasons — some come with acute symptoms like migraines or tension, others with longstanding issues, whether physical or emotional. Many also choose it as a regular part of maintaining wellbeing. Because the touch is light and non-invasive Craniosacral Therapy is suitable for all ages — from newborns to the elderly.
Each session is tailored to the individual. During a session, I will take a detailed case history and attentively listen to the reasons for your visit. You remain fully clothed, lying or sitting comfortably while I work with your body’s natural rhythms. You may feel warmth, pulsing, a gentle unwinding or simply a deep sense of calm. Over time many people find that the sense of stillness they experience in sessions becomes easier to access in daily life.
Also, clients often notice that tension eases, the nervous system settles, and there is a renewed sense of space and energy — physically, emotionally, and mentally. The therapy helps strengthen the body’s resources and invites a natural shift toward healthier patterns.
Whether you are experiencing acute physical problems like headaches back problems or another painful condition, dealing with long-standing physical and emotional challenges or seeking ongoing support - craniosacral therapy may be a good choice and able to support you.
Craniosacral Therapy does not replace medical care—it is intended to work alongside it and the relationship you have with your GP and other health professionals.
The hidden imbalance that may affects your whole body
Lock-Foot is a structural foot imbalance specifically a misalignment or “locking” of bones in the midfoot present in many people. It often goes unnoticed – and its effects travel diagonally through the body, disrupting posture, even affecting the jaw and nervous system.
Common symptoms include:
• Chronic back, hip or knee pain
• Jaw tension, bite misalignment (TMJ dysfunction)
• Uneven leg length
• Muscle tightness, poor balance
• Fatigue, brain fog or difficulty concentrating
Lock-Foot is caused by a subtle locking of small bones in the foot (metatarsals). This throws off how the body carries weight – often leading to a long chain of compensatory patterns.
Who can benefit?
• Those with long term pain that has not responded to other treatments
• Active individuals who want better balance, performance and recovery
• People preparing for dental work or struggling with jaw tension
Correction of Lock-Foot often brings immediate improvements in posture, bite, and energy. When combined with Craniosacral Therapy it supports deep lasting change.
More than just a neck injury
Whiplash is a whole-body event. When the head is whipped back and forth, the impact ripples through the spine, nervous system and fascia – even if the damage does not show on scans.
Common post-whiplash symptoms include:
• Neck pain, headaches, or dizziness
• Sleep problems or persistent fatigue
• Tingling or numbness in arms and legs
• Vision issues, light or sound sensitivity
• Jaw pain, grinding, or trouble swallowing
• Anxiety, irritability or cognitive difficulties
Whiplash is not always “just a sprain”. The body can get stuck in protective mode and without support it may never fully recover.

It was so good. This is the stress reliever I have been looking for.

I suffered a head injury accompanied by a lot of physical discomfort, including dizziness. I also had some jitters on and off after the accident. Anette understood my issues and her treatments made me feel better and calmed my nerves. I feel less anxious and lighter in the mind. My clarity of thought has improved and I sleep better. My pain and stiffness reduced with each session and I have better mobility and less fatigue. My advice to anybody who is looking for help with a health issue is to try Craniosacral therapy and trust the process.

It was genuinly the most relaxed I had felt in a long time. The 90 minutes passed all too quickly and after the session we discussed posture, stress relief and ways to recognise and prevent the triggers that had caused my lower back issues. I immediately booked my next appointment upon returning home.
